Stop Your Cat From Spraying
Cats are a good pet to have. They have the power to entertain themselves rather than screeching at the door all day until you get home. Several can even see after themselves. All you need to do is clean their litter box and replenish their food.
But like with any kind of pet they have their mistakes. One of the hardest of these is the art of spraying. You considered your cat was happy and next thing you know it is distributing its urine all over your fashionable pillows, carpet, and who knows what else.
Most people believe that when cats do this they don’t wish to use their litter box. Yet, this is not what is taking place. More often than not cats spray to distinguish their territory in the home. They pick out a spot that they like and proceed to spray urine on it.
Female cats will usually spray while in heat. They use the pheromones that are released to appeal male cats. They might spray even if there are no male cats in the home.
Stop The Spraying
Before you do anything, take your spraying cat to the vet for an examination. You need to make sure that they do not have any type of medical problem that is inducing them to do this. It is unlikely – but still a critical precaution.
The most capable thing you could do is to spay and neuter your cat. This means your female cats will not be in heat anymore. In both male and female cats this can moderate their aggressive conduct – which might be inducing them to spray.
Some cats spray because of stress. Try getting rid of whatever is inducing it.
Clean up where they have sprayed and do away with the smell. When a cat senses the odor from the urine they will distinguish it and be influenced to spray in other spots.
About the Author
One of the best ways to stop Cat Spraying is to Spay or Neuter them. In some cases it could be a sign that they have a certain type of Cat Disease that must be treated right away.
